Boho, Beautiful and Natural. Newborn Portraits...
The early months of this year have really introduced me to newborn photography- and not the usual type of portraits you see while scrolling Pinterest, or social media sites, but newborn photography within the home. Lifestyle-type newborn portraits.
The months of March and April introduced me to a season of newborn photography, and I'm not going to lie- I rather enjoyed it... the break from wedding photography. Photographing babies, while mostly sleeping, is very much a different world than photographing a full wedding day.
But I really feel like the brief escape into newborn photography created new talents within me, that I didn't know even existed. That's the beauty of photography or honing a craft... you are never quite done, are you?
The following photos were a privilege to do, not only because time had slipped and the "newborn" stage had passed by a few weeks, but because the baby was truly a miracle baby. A gift from God. When told your body can't, God says, "I can."
Introducing, Cody Sage Leonora.
This cradle was made by Cody's grandfather.

I love photographing the details around the home- it adds to the final gallery.
The hallway leading to Cody's bedroom. You can already see the personality of the room, before you even walk in.
Cody's older sister made this special display- showing all of Cody's big bows, and headbands.
One of the outfits worn by Cody for this portrait session- it was worn by her mother. I love it.

Settling in just fine.
One of my favorites from the day. Just catching those seemingly normal, but special moments between mother and baby.
A big, beautiful, mustard colored bow always helps.
Floral crowns look good on babies, as well as mamas.
A garden grows around her- see what a little creativity and fresh flowers can do?
