An Intimate River Elopement That Brought It All Back
From the outside looking in, you might’ve thought I was the odd one out. Just me, a camera, and a group of six—bride, groom, and their four closest people. But from the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home.
As we drove out to their ceremony location tucked beside a peaceful river with mountains stretching in the distance, I could already tell this day was going to be something special. The kind of elopement that’s simple, meaningful, and deeply personal.
It brought me right back to my own elopement nearly 15 years ago—the way it felt to let go of all the extras and focus on what really matters.
This couple chose just that. No fuss, no big production—just love, connection, and presence. Their elopement was about celebrating with a handful of close friends, saying their vows in a short and sweet ceremony, and soaking up every moment together afterward.
We spent time capturing portraits that reflected exactly who they are—laid-back, in love, and totally in the moment. Every frame told a story of quiet joy and intention.
They ended their day with the most charming touch: a cozy little cheesecake cutting that felt just right for the occasion.
It’s days like these that remind me why I love photographing intimate weddings and elopements. There’s a raw beauty in slowing down and honoring love in its truest form.
